Scope and Content

Drayton St Leonard is situated 10 miles miles south east of Oxford. The parish was formerly a chapelry of Dorchester until 1848 and a Peculiar of Dorchester until 1846.

The records were originally deposited in the Bodleian Library by Mr P Goss in 1957 (PAR89/16/H1/1) and Rev J W Goodall priest-in-charge of Drayton St Leonard in 1976. The material was then transferred to the Oxfordshire Record Office. PAR89/1/R3/3 was deposited in 1985. Additional records were deposited as Acc 248 in and 319 in May 1957and originally catalogued as Misc Dr. Acc 1314 was deposited in November 1976 and orignally catalogued as Misc Stad and Acc 335 in November 1958 and originally catalogued as Meaby III. Further records were deposited as Acc 6945 in March 2022 and Acc 6955 in March 2022.
