Thanks her for her letter and detailed account of experiences in Holloway Prison, which arrived very opportunely as she is to speak on the subject to friends in her village (Knebworth) in a few days, and her own memories are confused. Would like to keep manuscript as she would value it as a good and accurate account and also as a memento of a valued friend. Feels protests to the authorities should concentrate on fact of arrests and refusal to receive deputations rather than on side issues such as bad treatment by police. Will discuss this with Mrs. Pethick Lawrence and perhaps speak to Mr. Gladstone.
