Administrative / Biographical History
Duncan Macbeth & Co Ltd was a whisky bottling and blending business, formed in 1931 as an associate company of Mackenzie Brothers, Dalmore Ltd, owners of Dalmore distillery, Alness.
In 1961 the share capital of Duncan Macbeth & Co Ltd was sold by the Mackenzie family to Mackenzie Brothers, Dalmore Ltd. The previous year in 1960, Mackenzie Brothers, Dalmore Ltd and their long-term customers, whisky blenders Whyte & Mackay Ltd, Glasgow, had merged to form Dalmore, Whyte & Mackay Ltd. In turn, in 1964 Duncan Macbeth & Co Ltd was acquired by Whyte and Mackay.
