Scope and Content
Administrative / Biographical History
Members of Clifton Church, Newport Road, proposed the commencement of a Mission at Metal Street, Roath, in 1902. Funds collected specifically for the purpose led to the establishment of Metal Street Mission Church as a separate institution in 1926. It was used as a soup kitchen during the General Strike. The Metal Street building was sold by the Presbytery in 1994 but the church continued on a different site under the name Immanuel.
