Administrative / Biographical History
The York Children's Trust was established in 1976 through the amalgamation of the funds of York Charity Schools, St Stephen's Home, the William Richard Beckwith Fund, the Arthur Gill charity, the Matthew Rymer charity and the Ethel Crombie Memorial Fund. Its aim was the relief of needy children and young people up to the age of 25.
Today the Trust continues to provide financial support to children's and young people's groups based in and around York.

Acquisition Information
The archive was deposited at the Borthwick Institute in 1988. Further additions were made to the archive in 1991, 1997, 1998, 1999, 2008, and 2021.
