Administrative / Biographical History
Organised by the Central Women's Organisation Committee of the London Trades Council, 'The Pageant of Labour' was directed by Edward Genn and performed at the Crystal Palace between 15 and 20 October 1934 in celebration of the history of the British labour movement. The show was written by Matthew Anderson, with music by Alan Bush, and was a combination of dance, drama and music. Alan Bush and Michael Tippett conducted the choir and orchestra.
