The parish of Combe (also known as Long Combe or Combe Longa) is located a few miles from Woodstock on the edge of Blenheim Park. The parish is under the peculiar jurisdiction of the rector and fellows of Lincoln College Oxford.
The records of Combe consist of parish registers of baptisms, marriages and burials and documents of or relating to the Parochial Church Council, Churchwardens, Overseers of the Poor and the upkeep of the church and benefice.
The records were deposited as Acc 410 in November 1961, Acc 601 in March 1965 and Acc 2782 in July 1988. Other records were originally deposited in the Bodleian Library by the Rev G.H.P.Thompson in 1978 and the Rev Christie in 1988 as Acc 2830. Further records were deposited at the Oxfordshire Record Office/Oxfordshire History Centre as Acc. 5065 by Combe PCC in November 2002, and Acc. 6789 in September 2019.
The documents forming accession 5065 were transcribed in a booklet 'Combe Longa Parish Chest 1655-1921' that was produced by Dr David Booth and is part of the collection (see PAR71/17/MS1/1)
