Israel Taylor's will of 1780 left monies to pay apprenticeship fees of £12 to five boys per annum, and to provide pensions of £10 per annum to men and women over 60. Changes in the terms of the charity in 1912 meant that the £60 could also be used for educational purposes if not required for apprenticeships.
