Scope and Content

Appendix to the main report concerning the fire, including a copy of the course timetable for new entrants, a handout given to new entrants concerning the different classes of fire, details of the current supply for lifts and escalators, a duties checklist for railmen and a health and safety checklist concerning station premises. Also includes details of the knowledge required of station foremen, station inspectors and relief clerks; the refresher course timetable for supervisors; details of training in fire precautions and the use of fire equipment for station supervisors; lessons learned from the Oxford Circus fire; guidance for supervisors training their staff in emergency procedures at a station and notes on the stopping and starting of escalators.
