Scope and Content

Taped interviews conducted by Kenneth Richardson, a former history lecturer at Lanchester Polytechnic, Coventry, and his research assistants. Some of these were made during research for his books, including 'Twentieth Century Coventry' commissioned and published by the City Council in 1972.

Somes tapes have not been dated (indicated by the term n.d.), but it can be assumed they were made in the late 1960s or early 1970s when the other interviews were recorded.

Two of the interviews do not have digital copies available - RIC/1/143 (Rev. H. Salmon on Hillfields) and RIC/1/146 (Mr. P. Stephenson on community relations).

Some of the descriptions have asterisks *** where spelling is uncertain, or if a word in the recording cannot be heard properly.
