Jabez Hodgetts, 56 Branston Street, Birmingham, repairer of art pottery, to [his daughter] Alice [in Llandudno]. Replies that he is glad to hear she is doing well and is more content. Refers to a man called Hill and urges her to report him to the police at once. Says Hill has already been in prison for some months, but that as it was not for theft he did not mention it before. When Hill had asked JH for Alice's address, JH had said she was 'full' [she kept a lodging house in Llandudno]. Refers to the child Alice is expecting and says he hopes she will only have it registered, and 'have nothing to do with the Heathenish and unscriptural custom of sprinkling'.
