Administrative / Biographical History
Duncan Stuart Ferguson was born in 1902 in Glasgow, Scotland. His father, Peter, was a commercial traveller and the family home was in Rutherglen. Duncan came to the University of Glasgow in the academic session 1921-1922 and graduated in 1928 with a BSc in Engineering.
He took the following courses: Mathematics (ordinary and higher); Natural Philosophy (ordinary and higher); Physical laboratory; Chemistry; Engineering and Drawing; Geology and Mineralogy. He later worked as a civil engineer in England.
