Administrative / Biographical History

Rev. R. Elliot Kendall was born on 19th December 1915. He trained for Methodist ministry at Handsworth College, Birmingham. Kendall served with the Methodist Missionary Society (MMS) in Yunnan Province, South West China from 1939 until his expulsion from the country in 1951. Kendall later worked as the Chairman of the MMS Kenya District (1957). In 1967 Kendall became an Area Secretary for the Conference of British Missionary Societies. He retired in 1980. In retirement Kendall worked as Secretary, and later Executive Secretary of Christian Concern for Southern Africa, a campaign group Apartheid from 1983. He died on the 5th November 1992.
