Administrative / Biographical History

The correspondence relates to the ornithological results of the British Antarctic Expedition,1910-1913 (leader Robert Falcon Scott). During this expedition Cherry-Garrard travelled to the emperor penguin rookery at Cape Crozier with Edward Wilson and Henry Bowers to collect specimens during the Antarctic winter. These specimens were deposited at the British Museum (Natural History department) on his return.
