Scope and Content

Cropredy is situated in the extreme north of Oxfordshire, approximately 4 miles north of Banbury. In additional to the township of Cropredy, the parish also contains the Prestcote and Williamscote areas.

This collection was originally held by the Bodleian Library under the reference MSS.D.D.Par. Cropredy, and was transferred to the custody of Oxfordshire Archives in the 1980s. The collection has since been augmented by Acc 3464 in May 1992, Acc 3706 in October 1993, Acc 5116 in March 2003 and Acc 6096 in July 2012. The collection previously catalogued as Misc Cropredy has also been incorporated into this collection. A concordance of old and new references is given at the end of the catalogue. Please see S78/1 and CC4/60 for other records of Cropredy School.

Recatalogued by Hannah Jones, April 2004 with additions by Alison Smith in June 2014.
