Administrative / Biographical History
I. D. E. Elias was a firm of Llandeilo, Carmarthenshire, solicitors, active in the 1970s. The firm accumulated deeds and papers relating to several estates in the area, including the Carreg Cennen, Pant Meredith, Crug n Cwn (Keven Hirath) and Cefnucheldre estates. The Carreg Cennen estate, in the parishes of Llandeilo Fawr and Llangadog, Carmarthenshire, was leased by the Lawford family in the 18th-19th centuries and the Powell family in the 20th century. The Howell family held Pant Meredith, Llangadog, Carmarthenshire, from 1758. The Crug n Cwn or Keven Hirath estate, Llandeilo Fawr, Carmarthenshire, was held by Thomas Price from 1714. Lewis Bishop of Llandeilo held the land from 1876. The Cefnucheldre estate, Llanwrda, Carmarthenshire, was held by the Price family of Llanwrda during the 18th century and early 19th century.
Arrangement
Arranged into four groups: Group One consists of material relating to the Cennen estate, Pant Meredith estate and Llanegwad Parish properties; Group Two consists of material relating to the Crug n Cwn estate; Group Three consists of documents relating to Cefnycheldre estate material; and Group Four consists of miscellaneous material.
