Scope and Content

An interleaved copy of John Williams (Glanmor), The Records of Denbigh and its Lordship ... (Wrexham, 1860), bound together with an offprint of A. Foulkes-Roberts, The Lordship of Denbighland (Denbigh, 1898), with historical and genealogical notes in the hand of R. D. Roberts in the margins and on many of the interleaves; photographs, press cuttings and other printed items, 1902-1937, relating to Denbigh are pasted or tipped in the volume.

Administrative / Biographical History

Arthur Foulkes-Roberts (1864-1941) of Denbigh was a Fellow of the Society of Antiquaries, Denbigh. He and his brother R.D. Roberts transcribed various parish registers, tombstone inscriptions, church memorials, probate, episcopal and diocesan records, mostly from Denbighshire and Flintshire.
