Scope and Content

The parish of New Marston was created in 1963 from the original Conventional District created in 1948 from parts of Marston and Headington. A Mission Church from Marston parish was built in 1919 on Ferry Road and in 1955 a new parish church was built on Marston Road as a chapel of ease to St. Andrews Headington, which later became the parish church.

The records were originally deposited in the Bodleian Library, the material was then transferred to the Oxfordshire Record Office. Additional records were deposited as Acc 3714 in October 1993, Acc 4129 in August 1996 and Acc 4626 in October 1999.

A conspectus of new and old references is included at the end of this catalogue. Catalogued by Alison Smith in December 2023.
