Administrative / Biographical History

This parish was formerly part of the parish of Doncaster, St George. The building of the church was financed by shareholders of the Great Northern Railway, which had established its railway engineering works - the 'Plant' - in Doncaster, a short distance from the site of the church, in 1852.
