Records of Stoddard International plc, Design Archive, Classic Tonal and Tonal Chintz

This material is held atUniversity of Glasgow Archive Services

Scope and Content

Medium sized design patterns, predominantly featuring classical and chintz designs. The majority of the design patterns in this drawer were designed by Mayers and Woodhouse, Kidderminster but there are also a few by other designers, such as W. Jackson and A. Catton, and a few published design patterns by Anna Maria Garthwaite which have been painted. Some designs consist of several seperate pieces of paper, and therefore have been catalogued as single items with multiple parts. Where items are folded and stapled or clipped together the size recorded is that when folded. Some have been given a design number, while a few also note contract details.

This description is part of the Design Archive  which is divided into the 142 sections, each with its own separate description.
