Demutualisation Committee

This material is held atStandard Life Aberdeen Archive

Scope and Content

Standard Life became a mutual company in 1925 and the decision to demutualise and float on the stock market in 2006 was not taken lightly. There had already been several failed attempts to demutualise (1999 and 2001). When the decision was made a committee, led by John Hylands, was set up to manage the work and ensure that all legal obligations were met. This collection contains the minutes of meetings and notes of that committee.
