Scope and Content

Goring Heath is a hamlet within the parish of Goring, and records about it are mostly to be found in the parish records of Goring in PAR115 above (e.g. the enclosure award, at PAR115/16). However, there is a chapel there attached to the Allnutt Charity Almshouse, which was consecrated in 1742, and for which a few records survive. These are listed here.

Of the records in PAR116, PAR116/1/R2/1 and PAR116/1/R5/1 were originally deposited with the Bodleian Library as part of a collection of Goring records, whereas PAR116/1/R1/1 was deposited with Oxfordshire Archives by Allnutt's Hospital in 1987 as Accession No. 2644.

Recatalogued by Robin Darwall-Smith in September 1996.
