Carmarthen Leisure Centre Voluntary Committee was formed in 1975 to develop plans for a new leisure centre. It comprised a General Committee, Policy Committee, Appeal Committee, Publicity Committee and Planning Committee. The Committee came to an end in 1980, and the new Carmarthen Leisure Centre opened in August 1981.
