Custodial History
The programmes belonged to the late Maurice Kirk, who was born in York in the 1920s and educated at Nunthorpe Boys School. He served during the Second World War, and subsequently worked for the University of Leeds. Maurice Kirk's family continued to live in York and his father, Archibald Kirk, was Lord Mayor in 1963. The depositor, James Kirk, is the son of Maurice Kirk and found the programmes amongst his father's papers. He believes they relate to concerts his father attended as a young man.
