Administrative / Biographical History

Charles Cuthbert (C. C.) Brown was the British advisor in the Malay state of Terengganu (1932-1933) and the British Resident in the Malay state of Pahang (1935-1941). Following his career with the Malay Civil Service, Brown was appointed Lecturer in Malay Studies at the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), University of London.

Arrangement

Arranged into two series: a manuscript draft of the English-Malay dictionary, divided into 10 files; and a photocopied typescript of the English-Malay dictionary with handwritten annotations, divided into twenty three files.
