Scope and Content

Anglia and Oxford Regional Health Authority came into existence on 1st April 1994.

In 1993 it was announced that the Oxford Regional Health Authority was to be reformed. Mergers were the favoured solution to try and tackle the growing bureaucracy in the NHS. It was decided that Oxford was to merge with East Anglia, and Bedfordshire was to move into the new Region. The new name of Anglia and Oxford Regional Health Authority was chosen, and took over from the Oxford Regional Health Authority on the 1st April 1994.

See catalogue H5 for records the Oxford Regional Health Authority 1974-1994.
