Scope and Content

22 sheets (15" x 10-1") found in the binding of the consistory court act book no. 25, 1562/3-1563/4 (formerly AB 22); conjectural requiring of the Masses by Dom Anselm Hughes, n.d.; copy of article 'The York Masses' by Hugh Baillie and Philippe Oboussier; correspondence and notes relating to the York Masses by Dom Anselm Hughes and others; photocopies of the York Masses.
The names of only two composers occur: Johannes Cuk, or 'Cook' (Venit dilectus mews), and William Horwood (Kyrie II).

Arrangement

The sheets were repaired and bound by The National Archives in 1943, in the order in which the leaves were discovered in the binding of the consistory court act book. In 1970 the binding was unstitched and the leaves rearranged in a conjectural order.
