Full-length studio portrait of two lance corporals and a sergeant. The sergeant, the senior of the three is seated in the centre. He has a marksman skill-at-arms badge and is wearing two medals. One is the 1899 Queen's South Africa medal with one clasp (possibly Cape Colony), the other is the King's South Africa Medal with two clasps. On his left is the next most senior (in age) corporal who also wears a marksman skill-at-arms badge. To the sergeant's right is the youngest of the three. These could be three generations of the same family.
