Scope and Content

The society was set up with the aim of helping blind people in the city and county, by teaching the blind new skills, providing care of the unemployable blind, providing books in Braille and Moon type. In addition to charitable donations, it ran shops which sold goods made by the blind.

The records were deposited in 1980, and formed part of Accession 1963 (the remainder of this accession has been catalogued as O110-O111 and O113).

Catalogued by Robin Darwall-Smith in July 1993.
