Scope and Content

The group contains Richard Ellis' research notes, loose leaf and in notebooks, mainly on the Welsh antiquarian Edward Lhuyd, along with Ellis' index slips to these notes. Also included are Ellis' notes on various other subjects, including the poet Shelley and Welsh surnames, along with a group of notes taken by Ellis whilst a student at both the University of Wales, Aberystwyth, and Oxford University.
