Varied collection of glass lantern slides featuring photographs and also slides produced from other images. A number of slides are initialed 'WGJ' and are from photographs taken by W. G. Jones (b. 1873) of Llandudno while other slides appear to have been created from the work of other photographers or taken from published sources. In 1901, W. G. Jones was a 'retired outfitter' and resident at Bodiddian, Ty Gwyn Road and contemporary newspaper articles describe him operating the 'magic lantern' at lectures held at various venues in the Llandudno district, including those delivered by Richard Thomas (b. 1869) of Gwynllys, Llandudno. The slides cover a broad range of subjects and include portraits, events, street scenes and landscape views. Locations are predominantly around Llandudno though images also detail excursions further afield in Wales and to the Isle of Man. The collection was acquired by CCBC Museum Services from Capel Seilo, Gloddaeth Street, Llandudno in 2001.
