Administrative / Biographical History

Trades and Labour Councils were set up to to propagate Labour principles amongst the working classes, secure Labour representation on local boards and councils and to raise money to defray the costs of electioneering and attendance at committees. Rhondda East Trades and Labour Council, No. 9 ward, Glamorgan, was founded in 1904, and remained active until 1922.
