Papers of the Prichard Family, Llwydiarth Esgob

Various items stemming from the Solicitors of Llwydiarth Esgob, including; Deeds, Maps, Plans, Leases, Summons, Correspondence, Probate of Wills, Mortgages, Marriage Settlements, Releases, Registration Certificates, Bonds, Receipts, Titles, and various Ephemera.

The collections includes numerous items relating to the development of the Red Wharf Bay branch line by the London and North Western Railway Company, including compulsory purchases of land from the Bodorgan Estate. There are also numerous items relating to an incident affecting the Steam Ship 'Formby' on the 2nd of December, 1909, in Holyhead harbour.

The Prichard Family Solicitors were based at Llwydiarth Esgob, Llanerchymedd. Robert Prichard, solicitor, was known to have been active at the property from [c. 1798] to the 1840s. Thomas Prichard was then active at the property from the 1870s, being an undersheriff by 1879. Richard Francis Prichard was born on the 5th of January, 1898, and was the son of Thomas Prichard and Emilie Maud Jones.
