Essays, unpublished theses, and statistical information, including copies of Islwyn Evans's essay 'Prospects of the Coal Industry in South Wales' which won the Beatrice Grenfell Prize at the Llangefni National Eisteddfod 1957, together with copies of the adjudication (Nos. 78-80); copies of essays on 'To what extent has nationalisation on of Coal Mines achieved its object?' and 'The influence of the changing pattern of industry on the social and cultural life of West Wales' submitted by Islwyn Evans for competition at the Aberdare National Eisteddfod, 1956, and the Llanelli National Eisteddfod, 1962, respectively (Nos. 81-2); a copy of a thesis (Ph.D. London, 1958-9) by John Frederick Davis on 'The Forest of Dean and Bristol - Somerset Coalfields - a comparative study in industrial Geography during the nineteenth and twentieth centuries' (No. 83).
