Scope and Content

Personal papers and other material relating to the work of and positions held by Mr Henry Leyshon. The records include papers of the Executive Committee for Swansea of the Prince of Wales' National Relief Fund; the Coalfield Distress Fund; the Mayor of Swansea's Unemployment Relief Fund; the East Side District Nursing Association; Swansea Corporation notice re street improvements; concert tickets, memorial programmes and other ephemera; miscellaneous newspapers and press-cuttings.

Administrative / Biographical History

Mr Henry Leyshon of Swansea was a committee member of the East Side District Nursing Association 1906-1912. The association was founded in 1905 when the first district nurse took up her duties. Henry Leyshon was later Chairman of the Association 1913-1919 and Honorary Treasurer 1914-1940.
