Booklet issued on the occasion of the opening of the new Exchange on 27 July 1953 by the Minister of Food. Contains a history of the growth of markets in the City of London from the fifteenth century. The first Corn exchange dates from 1749 in Mark Lane. The building was destroyed in the War and this booklet celebrates its rebuilding on the site of the earlier Exchange. The rebuilding of the Seed Market was expected in 1954.
