Local anglers lost a large area of fishing on the River Cefni following the building of the dam in 1949. The late Mr Jeffrey (Tim) Davies a local angler contacted Anglesey County Council to seek permission to fish on the reservoir. A licence was granted and fishing began on 1st March 1952.
