Sarah Eleanor 'Sadie' Edwards, Travelling in North America 1961-1963.

Sarah Eleanor ‘Sadie’ Edwards grew up in Ammanford with her sister, Doris, the daughters of the local sergeant of police. She later trained as a nurse and moved to Bristol. In 1961, in her forties, she pursued her dream of visiting North America and took up a nursing post in Toronto. From there she travelled extensively across Canada and the United States, collecting brochures, postcards, and other souvenirs during her travels. Upon her return, in 1963, she took up a post as Matron at Trinity College, Carmarthen. She moved back to her family home in Ammanford when she retired and lived there until she passed away at the age of 96.
