Jean Marshall Stewart Stevenson [known as Jean Macaulay Stevenson] was born on 20 July 1900, the daughter of Robert Macaulay Stevenson and his first wife Jean. She trained at the Glasgow School of Art from 1926-1931 and visited France in 1910. She was the recipient of the Lauder award in 1933 and was Secretary of the Glasgow Society of Lady Artists from 1955 to 1959. Her works were also exhibited in the Glasgow Institute five times.
