Eleanor Frost was the benefactor behind the building of Brynymaen's parish church, Christ Church, in c1900. She left money to the parish in the form of the Eleanor Frost bequest (later trust fund). This fund became the source of controversy in the 1930s as it was disputed whether the money could be used for the diocese as a whole or was solely for the benefit of the Brynymaen church.
