These six account books were deposited with us in 1965 and they were then assigned the accession number 573.
The accounts are of the Huntriss' family, in particular the household accounts of Mr R.C. Huntriss' mother from the time of her marriage in 1910 until her death in 1963. The family lived at Hythe, Hampshire, until the end of 1914 when they moved to Warsash in Hampshire where they remained until 1932. They then moved to Adderbury, Oxon and in 1946 to Banbury. The original household consisted of the family ( 3 sons born in 1914, 1918 and 1920), a resident cook, nanny and non-resident gardeners. After the war, it seems from the accounts that there was probably a certain amount of daily help but never resident help again.
