Administrative / Biographical History
The British Federation of Women Graduates was founded in 1907 and became affiliated to the International Federation of University Women (IFUW) and University Women of Europe (UWE) with Local Associations forming such as the Dundee branch (Graduate Women Scotland East). The British Federation promotes contact throughout the UK, holds Annual Conference weekends, arranges Seminars and many social events. The BFWG Charitable Fund awards grants to women each year for postgraduate study and research. Many members of the Dundee branch were enthusiastic office bearers and delegates regularly travelling to meetings at the BFWG Headquarters in London.
