Documents relating to the Astley-Nicholson family of Dukinfield, co Ches

This collection appears to have been formed because of Taylor, Kirkman and Mainprice's representation of the Astley-Nicholson family and includes material relating to Stalybridge and Mottram, in addition to Dukinfield.

On deposit in 1946 the deeds were not sorted but were placed in two large boxes labelled Mun. E.8.1 and Mun. E.8.2. In January 1989 and May 1990 the deeds were placed in chronological order and were reboxed by M.R. Powell. The documents are now in 6 boxes numbered E.8.1-2 a-f:

The collection of 237 documents was deposited in Chetham's Library in 1946 by F. H. Mainprice of Taylor, Kirkman and Mainprice, solicitors to Chetham's Hospital and Library.
