The correspondence is split between letters to his parents (John and Hannah), his wife Kathleen and general family correspondence to his sisters and their families. The scope of the correspondence covers all aspects of Scott's life recounting his naval career, the two Antarctic expeditions and personal news.

Additional Information

MS 1542/5/1-9;D have black edging on the letters themselves or the envelopes. Although no mention of him is made this is probably due to the death in 1898 of Scott's younger brother Archie.
