Papers of Captain George Roberts, Broneirian, Porth Amlwch, Master including certificates of discharge; receipts; correspondence; ships scrap logbooks; wages sheets and personal diaries.

On a certificate of discharge, George's birth is noted as 1st April 1878. He was born in Liverpool and notes in one of his diaries the birth of a George McConall on 3rd April 1878 in Everton, Liverpool to a George and Ann Roberts who married in 1877. He worked for Richard Hughes & Co the master on their steamships taking cargo from UK to France, the company for whom he worked all his career. On reading his diaries it appeared he stopped work on the grounds of ill health and died at the young age of 55 on 18th June 1933.
