Administrative / Biographical History

The Jackson-Harmsworth Arctic Expedition, 1894-1897 (leader Frederick George Jackson) spent 3 years exploring Zemlya Frantsa-Iosifa. Bruce joined the expedition for the 3rd and final season in the Arctic by which time it had been confirmed that Zemlya Frantsa-Iosifa was an archipelago. The expedition made zoological, botanical, meteorological and geological observations.
