Scope and Content

created under the Local Government Act 1894 and superseded that part of the Thame Rural Sanitary Authority which was in Oxfordshire. The Buckinghamshire part of Thame RSA went into Long Crendon Rural District

Under the Oxfordshire Review Order 1932 the district was abolished and all parishes transferred to Bullingdon Rural District (see F A Youngs 'Guide to the Local Administrative Units of England' for a list of parishes in the district)

Responsibilities included public health, housing, rating, planning, building regulations, water supplies, sewerage, some roads

The collection includes records of Thame Rural Sanitary Authority

The collection was originally catalogued as Thame RDC (accession numbers 740, 741, 918, 1117, 1548 & 1550)

Recatalogued by Della Fredericks and Chris Gilliam with additional records from accessions 5247, 5340 & 5438
