Administrative / Biographical History

Roy Gibson attended the Malay Department of SOAS in 1947 as part of the 1st Devonshire Course, before going out to Malayasia, where he served in the Malayan Civil Service. He returned to Europe in 1958.

Acquisition Information

Donated to SOAS Library with a number of publications in January 2015. The publications, now added to the SOAS Main Library collections, include Wilkinson's Malay English Dictionary, 1932, 2 volumes (Library reference: L IBA413 /988604 Pt. 1 & Pt.2) and a Tamil English dictionary by Fabricius, 1933 (Library reference: KVO413 /366016)
