Papers relating to the Arts Council's South Bank Commission

This folder includes correspondence with the Arts Council relating to the proposal - both their original brief and their explanations of why the project was not being taken forward; correspondence from companies and industry bodies relating to the practicalities of the sculpture; designs and photographs of the maquettes. There is also a short piece of writing by Hetty Startup's describing some of her father's ideas behind the sculpture.
