Scope and Content

Papers of the families of Vaughan and Jones relating to the Tanymanod and Gelli estates, Ffestiniog, Merionethshire, 1799-1932, 1953-1955, including rentals, 1875-1910 (Tanymanod estate), 1879-1910 (Gelli estate); building leases granted by John Vaughan of Tanymanod, [c. 1850]-1870 and other deeds, almost all relating to premises in Ffestiniog, Merioneth, and papers belonging to Evan Parry Jones, manager of the Diphwys Casson Slate Quarry, 1873-1902.

Administrative / Biographical History

Tanymanod in the parish of Ffestiniog, Merioneth, was owned by one John Vaughan form the 1830s to the 1870s whilst the Gelli estate was owned by Evan Parry Jones of Cefnfaes, Ffestiniog, quarry manager for the Diphwys Casson Slate Quarry. He had moved from Cefnfaes to Blaendd©þl, Ffestiniog, by 1895.

Tanymanod in the parish of Ffestiniog, Merioneth, was owned by one John Vaughan form the 1830s to the 1870s whilst the Gelli estate was owned by Evan Parry Jones of Cefnfaes, Ffestiniog, quarry manager for the Diphwys Casson Slate Quarry. He had moved from Cefnfaes to Blaendd©þl, Ffestiniog, by 1895.
